ax-lightness ULTRA SL 35C – Aero lightweight construction under 1,000 grams
With the ULTRA SL 35C, ax-lightness sets new benchmarks in high-end wheel building with extreme lightweight construction for road use. Building on decades of experience in carbon manufacturing, the ULTRA series has been consistently refined and optimized for maximum performance. The in-house ULTRA components incorporate the combined expertise from all ax-lightness manufacturing sectors (cycling, automotive, skiing, etc.) – united in a highly integrated lightweight system without compromise.
The ULTRA SL 35C combines aerodynamic efficiency with extreme lightweight construction: 880 grams total weight (including tubeless rim tape, ± 5 %) with an approved system weight of up to 110 kg – placing it in a class of its own within the aero segment. The 35 mm profile with its bulbous rim shape provides noticeable aerodynamic advantages and stable handling even in crosswinds, while the 24 mm internal rim width and 30 mm external width ensure optimal tire support and smooth rolling characteristics.
Both front and rear wheels use 20 carbon bladed spokes in the ultralight T32 version, laced in a 2-cross pattern for even load distribution, high lateral and torsional stiffness, and a direct, powerful ride feel during sprints and climbs.
The in-house ax-lightness ULTRA disc hubs with ratchet freehub and ceramic bearings ensure minimal rolling resistance and maximum durability. The paint-free UD glossy finish with subtle white decals saves additional weight while making a clear visual statement.
