The FUOCO AERO SL Special Edition No. 1
This special paint job for our 20th anniversary of BENObikes is limited to 100 pieces.
Now with the new faster, lighter and more precise SRAM RED AXS New groupset with power meter and ceramic bearings. The many test victories in the past confirm our continuous development work. On this basis, we embarked on the FUOCO AERO SL project.
In addition to feedback from the riders of our professional teams P&S BENOTTI and REMBE ProCycling Team Sauerland, customer opinions were of course also incorporated into the further development. All parameters were considered and the result was the new FUOCO AERO SL, optimised in terms of carbon fibre, aerodynamics and weight, plus a new handlebar unit and seat post. The frame is made of T1000 carbon with additional high-modulus fibres and weighs approx. 950 grams at medium frame height. It is designed for electronic shifting only. The shape of the stem/handlebar unit has been modified and made even more aerodynamic.
The handlebars have a short reach of 75 mm and a compact drop of 127 mm. In addition, we have harmoniously shaped the handlebar curve to allow easy access to the brake/shift levers from all grip positions.
The full integration of the cables and lines and the newly designed top link in a wing-like design offer little surface area for the wind to attack. The modified design enables an even more comfortable grip in the top link position than its predecessor. It is also possible to support the forearms like on a trailer and ride in a particularly aerodynamic position.
The handlebars are supplied with a proprietary computer mount that is compatible with all standard manufacturers. The result of the developments is not only impressive in simulations, but also very impressive on the road!
The bike impresses with its even higher bottom bracket and headset stiffness than before. When sprinting, the bike impresses with its willing propulsion and downhill it can be manoeuvred very directly and in a controlled manner even through tight bends.
Thanks to the optimised frame geometry and aerodynamics, it remains even more stable in unfavourable wind conditions. Our ax-lightness Ultra Carbon wheels with a height of 50 mm and the class-leading Continental GP5000 TT also contribute to this. We were able to significantly reduce the weight of the frameset (frame, fork, handlebars, seatpost and headset approx. 2200 grams) once again by optimising the weight distribution, which benefits the overall weight of the bike.
The comfort characteristics have also been further improved. The attached seat stays have been optimised to optimise airflow and ensure improved flex thanks to slight changes in the configuration. The bulbous fork minimises air turbulence between the fork and wheel and, like the rear, offers space for tyres up to 35 mm (inner rim width 21 mm). This means that the FUOCO AERO SL is also ideally equipped for comfort-orientated riders or for epic rides.
