The ax-lightness Aero-R 50CX: Lightweight, aerodynamic, and robust with the best value for money, this wheelset combines features that were previously considered unattainable in this price range. With a system weight of just 1,370 g, a 50 mm rim depth, and a wide 24 mm internal rim width, it is a true all-rounder – whether on asphalt, gravel, or cyclocross terrain.
Drawing on the experience from the ULTRA and SELECTION series by ax-lightness, and the combination of a refined manufacturing process with fiber optimization, it delivers a significant boost in efficiency and stiffness.
The rims are designed as hooked clinchers and are fully tubeless-ready. The matte black UD finish with black laser-etched decals gives the set the visual appearance of the ULTRA/SELECTION Series 2026.
For maximum reliability, the rear hub features durable Enduro bearings and the proven ratchet freehub system. This is complemented by Sapim CX-Sprint spokes, known for high stability, lateral stiffness, and excellent aerodynamics – whether in fast racing conditions or on demanding gravel routes.
With an approved system weight of 130 kg, it is also ideal for heavier riders and additionally demonstrates strong suitability for bikepacking.
